LONDON – Samsung's cellphone sales revenue jumped 47 percent to $48.2 billion in 2011 making the company the leading mobile phone company by revenue, according to IC Insights. However, Nokia retained the number one position when ranked by units shipped as its sales revenue dropped by 14 percent to $33.3 billion the market research firm said.
The table below shows the top ten cell phone suppliers ranked by unit shipments in 2011 but with sales and shipments supplied for 2009, 2010 and 2011.
In 2011 a 12 percent increase in units shipped to 1.6 billion drove a 28 percent increase in revenue to $195.3 billion as mobile phone ASPs went up with the adoption of smartphones. The "other" category outperformed the top ten as units shipped climbed 34 percent and value shipped went up 52 percent.
Other cellular phone suppliers shipped 381 million units or 24 percent of cellphone handsets in 2011 but about half of these, worth about $8 billion, were counterfeit handsets, according to IC Insights.

ASP for iPhone at roughly $300? I believe that should be north of $600.

I assume the ASP of $300 or more includes subsidization by the carriers in many markets which varies by geographical region for iPhone.
But I am surprised the highest one of all, HTC, at nearly $350.

This is not a surprise at all. Infact stock rating agencies have already downgraded Nokia stock to "Junk" status. Samsung has smartly captured the market by releasing several different models, whereas Nokia is betting high on its windows based Lumina phones. Needs to be seen if Samsung can compete with Apple.
