Fourth CEO at Calypto

This week, Calypto has announced their 4th CEO since company inception back in December 2002 and launch in January 2005. First up was founder Devadas Varma. Then January 2006 came Tom Sandoval. He was replaced in January 2011 by the VP of sales, Doug Aitelli. He lasted two years and now they have announced the appointment of Sanjiv Kaul.
It seems as if Calypto likes to bring in the New Year with a new CEO although this time the official announcement came in February. However the rumor mill had already been churning. Clearly Aitelli was not ousted because of bad sales because in the previous year they achieved record bookings and he oversaw the acquisition of Catapult C from Mentor Graphics – quite an accomplishment and one they are talking about in the press release that goes with Kaul appointment. Aitelli’s LinkedIn page just says that he is taking some time off and no other reasons for the change were stated.
